Shropshire charity that faced closure, has been saved with an amazing 4 year grant.

Shropshire life line charity awarded £450,423 from The National Lottery - Reaching Communities Fund.

Shropshire Peer Counselling & Advocacy Service (PCAS) has been running for over 26 years, and has a fantastic staff team of 8.

This amazing funding over the next 4 years will enable Shropshire Peer Counselling & Advocacy Service to offer long term help and support for 800 of the most vulnerable people living in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin.

People who have multiple disabilities and complex needs will be able to live a stable, free from abuse, settled life with the help and support they need.

This grant will help towards securing the future for this Independent Advocacy Service that has helped over 10,000 people in the last 26 years.

Advocates will work with clients to build their skills to enable them to do more for themselves.

The charity has their largest waiting list in over 26 years, with many of the new referrals for help coming in for Child Protection, Mental Health needs and Long Term help.

(Simon Arthur – Manager) Says: We’re delighted that The National Lottery Community Fund has recognised the important work we do in Shropshire.

This amazing 4 year grant has enabled our charity to stay open.

We still have over £400,000 to find, but with this grant we will be staying open.

Without this grant we were looking at having to close the charity after 26 years of helping the most vulnerable people.

We have helped over 10,000 people over the years, and now we will still be here as a lifeline for so many people who need our help and support.

A massive thank you, to all the National Lottery players for helping make this happen.
