Our Work

PCAS is an independent Advocacy service that assists with:

  • Safeguarding people who are vulnerable
  • Supporting disabled people at risk of losing their homes or responsibilities
  • Empowering people who need a stronger voice, helping with understanding and decision making
  • Enabling people to gain access to information, explore and understand their options, and to make their views and wishes known
  • Support dealing with care issues, accommodation, financial management and paperwork
  • Speaking on behalf of people who are unable to do so for themselves
  • Child Protection matters
  • We also offer Non-Instructed Advocacy

In the last 12 months alone, PCAS has:

  • Helped 450 vulnerable disabled people, with 3,088 issues being recorded, that is an average of 7 issues per client
  • Assisted clients to gain access to 1,535 other services they needed help from
  • Enabled 11 people at risk of losing their tenancy to now have a secure tenancy
  • Helped 52 people now feel safe
  • Used our skills so that 33 people who reported being depressed are now less depressed about their situation
  • Helped 59 people who reported they can now make their own decisions
  • Enabled 98 people to now live in safe and suitable accommodation
  • Assisted 73 people so they can now manage their finances better with help
  • Supported 52 people so they’re better at budgeting
  • Made 33 clients feel more independent and a further 33 to manage their Mental Health issues better

Our uniqueness, passion and caring has brought us the success we have had over the years, but now these qualities are also becoming our biggest threat. We all want to continue our unique work for our clients and for PCAS to thrive for the next 25 years.

• I don’t want to kill myself anymore
• I’m in control of my finances now with PCAS help, not getting into arrears with my rent
• PCAS help me sort my finances as I had a stroke and could not cope
• I’ve moved out of private accommodation into one more suitable for my needs
• I’m now living at home with my family
• I’ve moved on with my life and got a good job
• I’m now able to speak up at meetings regarding my children
