FEELING THE LOVE…

We are delighted that Richard Burbidge and their sister company Atkinson & Kirby have selected PCAS as their nominated community and charity partner for 2020.

Ffion Hughes from their Marketing team explains:

“Since moving the Group Head Office from Chester to our manufacturing site in Chirk we are trying to really drive forward our community spirit and make sure we are giving something back to our local surroundings. We asked members of staff to nominate a charity that is close to their hearts, and as a company we would vote for which charity we would like to be our Charity of the Year. A member of staff nominated PCAS after fundraising for them at their local choir, and saw first-hand the positive impact PCAS have had on Oswestry and the surrounding areas. Members of staff then read the descriptions of each one and felt that PCAS was a charity that makes a change in the local community and that we would love to be a part of!”

Staff of the parent company (Archwood Group based in Chirk) are already off the mark with their fundraising activities, as Ffion continues:

“We would like to have regular fundraising activities for members of staff throughout the year, such as a Mother’s Day raffle or a tuck shop with all of the donations and profits going directly to PCAS. We are very excited to be hosting our first fundraiser of the year with a Valentine’s Day raffle. We have been kindly donated an impressive hamper from Gillhams in Oswestry which is our main prize in the raffle, along with bottles of wine and champagne, and a host of Valentine’s themed prizes. The raffle has gone down really well with staff with many tickets being sold already! We will then be hosting a great Easter bake off for PCAS’ 25th anniversary, with staff baking their favourite Easter treats and voting for the best tasting cake!”

PCAS will be working closely with the staff at Richard Burbidge and Atkinson & Kirby to maximise the partnership throughout the year.

STOP PRESS:  The Valentine’s raffle was a fantastic success: over 500 tickets sold, and £169.65 raised. Fantastic and generous support from the staff of these two local businesses… THANK YOU.
